Online Quiz: Do you Have Postpartum Depression?

For a few years, I worked as a nurse in primary care. There, I would do well baby visits and support new moms as they navigated life with a new baby.

Frequently, I used a screening tool to assess for postpartum depression called the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale because it's THE trusted source for health professionals.

What I realized, though, is that when women came into the clinic with their babies they felt distracted and hesitant to take the test or feel judged.

The fear of having your baby taken away is no joke for many women and that's especially true if they feel mentally vulnerable.

Over the years I've offered the test to women as a free download and it's been very popular! But I've taken it one step further: I put the entire test online so all you have to do is answer the ten questions and get your instant results.

Ten questions and it scores you based on this trusted postpartum depression tool.

Each results page has information about PPD and suggestions for your next steps.

You are not alone ❤️

Joanne Ilaqua - CEO of MamaSoup

Hey there, I’m Joanne.

I’ve spent about 20 years serving women as a nurse, doula and Lamaze educator. I have 4 kids and I know firsthand how lonely and isolating motherhood can be, so I created MamaSoup. I'm mostly known for my love of red wine, spontaneously singing and my confidence in being my true self on social media. When I’m not busy building women up, you can catch me taking Instagram stories of my bulldog Ruby, watching The Handmaid’s Tale, playing MUber (Mom Uber) to my kids or vacationing in my favourite town: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

I love serving the world by providing a space for moms to connect and support each other. In my opinion, moms are the backbone of communities because they are (literally) raising the future!

As the founder and CEO of MamaSoup, I’ve been featured on CHEX TV Morning Show, KawarthaNOW, Economic Development- The City of Kawartha Lakes and MyKawartha.

Still with me? Join me over at MamaSoup to keep the conversation going!
